This area covers the the two departments of Essonne and Seine-et-Marne. It is a predominantly bouldering area, and is very popular. There are over 10 very good individual guidebooks to the area, that cover the climbing in all different ways. In total there are over 30,000 problems listed on popular climbing databases, and around 20.000 of these are very individual in nature. The 6 page section of this book, introduces you to all of the main areas and is ideal if you want to visit and try a few places before deciding which local guidebook to buy.

Be warned, there are 900 square km of forest - and 780 sqm with no boulders at all. Unless you are really into walking.... you are best off with a guidebook.
