PORTUGAL - SPORT ONSIGHT SPORT - REDINHA

POSITION: A fine limestone ridge on top of a hill that is facing west towards the sea. Between Pombal and Coimbra in central Portugal

This is a very small cliff with routes generally only up to 17-20 metres. The view is fantastic, and it's a drive in crag - up a rough track that isn't too steep. The rock is very compact limestone and demands very technical climbing with strong fingertip strength.

The situation is the best part about the cliff, and it is often quiet - apart from the constant clanking of cow bells and church bell peels. The village below has a bar with variable opening times, and Redinha itself has a small shop, post office and bar. Not the cliff to plan a complete vacation, but one of the best pic-nic spots with climbing on hand. Not bad for a mixed group of climbers, and a lot less daunting than the neaby Poios.
